Types of Aquaculture Ponds According to 6 Categories
As an aquaculturist, You may have come across several types of ponds. Some are as small as 16m2, some as large as 500m2. Some are made of concrete walls with inlet pipes for water penetration, while others are made of earthen walls with diversion canals to feed the pond with naturally flowing water. In my experience, ponds are different from each other with respect to more than 15 peculiarity aspects. These aspects of peculiarity can be grouped according to the following categories:
- According to the water source;
- According to the means of drainage;
- According to the construction materials;
- According to the construction method;
- According to the use of the pond;
